Seniors in reserve action

The Chelsea reserve team’s attempt to win its first game of the season this
evening will be boosted by the presence of first team squad members not away on
international duty. Celestine Babayaro, Scott Parker and Robert Huth will all
line-up at Aldershot against Ipswich.


Mick’s McGiven’s young side lost their first game by a single goal away at
Watford but on that occasion no first teamers were present. For the first home
game however, the new policy of giving such players games at this level is in
evidence.


Ipswich too have played just the once this season and also lost, 2-1 at home to
Crystal Palace. They will be fielding a young side tonight with little first
team experience.


Craig Rocastle, a recent regular in the reserves with 19 games last season,
will not be in action however. He has joined Hibernian on loan until January.
It is the 23 year-old midfielder’s third loan spell having spent time last
season at Barnsley and Lincoln City. He also played in Chelsea’s first team
friendly at Oxford in July.

The game kicks-off at 7-00pm at Aldershot Town’s Recreation Ground, High St.,
Aldershot.
