戰前報導,預備隊射手王 Kneissl 和奧利維拉..羅卡索..瓦特..莫萊斯都回來囉~ http://www.chelseafc.com/article.asp?hlid=250725 Watt and Morais in reserve action as striker returns Wednesday, Jan 19, 2005 Chelsea’s reserve team makes a delayed return to action after Christmas tonight, away at Norwich. Sebastian Kneissl, the Barclays Premiership Reserve League South’s top scorer last season, is back in the side. Kneissl was due to make his first reserve outing of the season a week ago having finished a loan spell with Belgian club Westerlo but the home game against Fulham was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. The late restart to the season also allows Filipe Oliveira back into the team, his month-long loan at Preston having also ended. The 20 year- old started one game and came on in four others while with the Football League Championship side. Kneissl, who turned 22 last Thursday, will add a welcome cutting edge to a team that at times has been goal-shy this season although it does head to Norfolk having won the last two games. The German scored 12 goals last season despite missing the second-half of it on loan. Chelsea’s two newest first team debutants Steven Watt and Nuno Morais are both included in tonight’s side. The midfield will contain Craig Rocastle, another returned from loan who at 23 is a welcome injection of experience, plus Anthony Grant, fresh from the first team bench against Scunthorpe. Norwich, currently seven places and 12 points ahead of Chelsea in the table having played a game more, include experienced Scottish international Gary Holt in their side after seven weeks out through illness. His fellow Scottish international Paul Gallacher is in goal while up front will be Paul McVeigh of the current Northern Ireland team. Apart from those players, it is a relatively inexperienced side with both injury and an FA Youth Cup game taking place at the same time limiting the Canaries' selection possibilities. In the corresponding home fixture back in September Chelsea lost 2-0. The full Chelsea line-up tonight is: Lenny Pidgeley Nuno Morais, Adrian Pettigrew, Steven Watt, Sam Tillen Craig Rocastle, Anthony Grant, Danny Hollands (Capt) Filipe Oliveira Sebastian Kneissl, Danny Woodards. Subs from: Yves Ma-Kalambay, Ed Brand, Philip Younghusband, Jimmy Smith, Joe Tillen, Filipe Morais. Norwich: Gallacher, Willis, Adam Smith, Blackburn, Greenwood, Manning, Liam Smith, Crow, Jarvis, Holt, McVeigh. Subs: Lewis Smith, Hollman, Bunn, Squires, Asprey. by Paul Mason ----------------------- 戰報,卻爾西1-0勝! Kneissl 攻入致勝球 http://www.chelseafc.com/article.asp?hlid=250847 Norwich Reserves 0 Chelsea Reserves 1 Wednesday, Jan 19, 2005 It took Sebastian Kneissl just 23 minutes to find the scoring groove, netting the only goal as Chelsea’s reserve team recorded a third win in a row, the best form of the season. The German Under 20 international striker was beginning his first reserve game of the season having returned from loan in Belgium. His inclusion plus those of Craig Rocastle and Filipe Oliveira who were also back from loan gave Mick McGiven’s side its most experienced look for sometime, especially with recent first team debutants Steven Watt and Nuno Morais also playing. The Portuguese Under 21 was at right- back for the first time having tried out left-back versus Scunthorpe. Consequently, hopes of avenging a 2-0 defeat in the home fixture against Norwich in September were high before kick-off and they rose even further when the opposition were dealt a big early blow. Defender Adam Smith, already in the book for throwing the ball away, was sent off after just 16 minutes by an excitable referee when he foolishly kicked the ball some distance after the whistle had gone. Rocastle too was early into the book for dissent. Chelsea had already been in control of the game but now the pattern for the night was well and truly set with all Norwich ambition evaporating. Chelsea’s first effort on goal had been after ten minutes, an Oliveira volley high and wide after a sweeping move up field and a Watt strike soon after was blocked by a well-placed defender. The red card followed and a Chelsea opener looked inevitable. It arrived exactly midway through the first-half. A Sam Tillen cross had inadvertently bounced of Kneissl just one minute before with Gallacher saving. When the left-back swung over another good ball to the far-post, Woodards, typically proficient in the air, nodded down and the 22 year-old with a gift for being in the right place at the right time volleyed in. Kneissl wasn't too far away from doubling the lead just past the half- hour with a run and snap-shot from 15 yards, Gallacher down quickly to get an arm on the ball. Norwich had been left a mixture of three internationals and a whole lot of inexperience (including local college boys) by injuries and an FA Youth Cup tie the same evening. They were proving no threat at all at the other end. Lenny Pidgeley was a near spectator, unlike his opposite number Gallacher who was forced to block again five minutes from the break when Kneissl turned a Woodards near-post cross on target. On the evidence of the first-half, it was unlikely the Chelsea team was leaving itself open to an equaliser by failing to add to the score. As the second-half progressed however, there was disappointment in the lack of good opportunities created despite much possession with the home team camped deep in their half. It was little surprise a change was made 25 minutes from the end, Joe Tillen on for Oliveira with a return to the more familiar 4-3-3, and it was the new arrival who started the move that ended with Danny Hollands shooting just wide. It was the first and last attempt of the second-half. The game ended as it began with a burst of bookings, Norwich’s Willis and Kneissl both cautioned for late tackles. A healthy 5,095 crowd looked on.
