Reaction: Moyes in denial over Beattie dismissal

詹姆士˙比蒂第七分鐘紅牌下場成為賽後記者會的焦點，雙方的發言人都認為這
是本場比賽的轉折點，但雙方皆認同的也僅止於此。
助理教練史蒂夫˙克拉克說： "很明顯地，比蒂被罰下後他們開始死守，我們知
道要攻破那種防守總是很困難，但是如果我們保持耐心不斷進攻那就ＯＫ。"
另外克拉克否認本場比賽拿到積分大大讓球隊鬆了一口氣，尤其是上週在主場被
曼城逼平之後。 "人們總是試著把壓力放在我們身上，但我們總是能在非常非常艱困
的處境下反彈，這展示了俱樂部的精神。"
接著談到比蒂的紅牌問題， "看看重播畫面吧，那的確是紅牌，那是足球比賽裡
會發生的奇妙事件之一，以前發生過，我也確信以後會繼續發生。"
不過埃佛頓教練莫耶斯可不這麼認為，他認為加拉斯太容易摔倒了。 "我以前也
是個中衛，那麼容易就摔倒簡直是種恥辱，特里大概過一百萬年也不會那樣摔倒，那
不該是張紅牌，一個高大的後衛怎麼可能會那樣？"
“With respect,” observed one reporter, “you’re probably the only
person who’s seen it that thinks that way.”
The Everton boss now became bogged down in denial. No, he had not
spoken with Beattie about the incident, and no, he would not, at this
stage, be punishing him for the transgression. Beattie, he maintained, had
simply been running with his “head down”.
Anyway, he mused, “What would the definition of a butt be?”
There was more accord when his analysis finally moved on. “It’d been
a hard task before that,” he said. “I thought it [the dismissal] ruined
any chance we had.
“But I’ve got to credit the players, we were in it right till the end,
albeit Chelsea kept the ball really well, especially in the second half.”
