Drogba and Lampard did not take part in the fund-raising match in the Nou Camp after Chelsea informed FIFA they were both injured. Chelsea face a difficult spell over the next few weeks, with Sunday's FA Cup tie at Newcastle followed by the Champions League last 16 first-leg tie at Barcelona next Wednesday and the Carling Cup final against Liverpool four days later. Deco, who won last season's Champions League trophy at Porto under Mourinho, seemed to infer his former boss had been protecting his players' fitness ahead of their tie at Barcelona. The Portugal international, who took part in last night's friendly, declared: "All the players really wanted to play. I am certain that Mourinho had something to do with them not coming." Chelsea responded by explaining the reasons behind the withdrawals of Drogba, who has been out injured for the past couple of weeks with a groin problem, and Lampard. A spokesman revealed: "Didier Drogba was requested but he has been out injured for a few weeks and was pulled out of the game on that basis. "Frank Lampard was then requested but he picked up an injury at Everton last weekend and FIFA were informed as soon as possible of his unavailability. "Every effort was made to find a replacement but this was unfortunately impossible due to the lateness of the situation." Lampard is expected to be fit for Sunday's game at St James' Park, while Drogba has been hoping to make a comeback soon from his groin problem. Chelsea officials are nevertheless concerned their commitment to the tsunami relief cause should not be questioned, with the club understood to have raised more than £100,000. Contrary to some reports, John Terry and Geremi were never due to take part in last night's game, although other clubs were represented as Steven Gerrard, Thierry Henry and Henri Camara were among those who made the journey from England. Terry, meanwhile, believes Chelsea are still on course for a potential quadruple, although he is ruled out of this weekend's cup tie at St James' Park through suspension. "We have to be confident enough to go into these games believing that we can [win the quadruple]," he told BBC Radio Five Live. "We're flying at the minute and hopefully we can continue doing that. I think the main competition if you speak to anyone at the club though is the Premier League. "If we could win that, it would be a great achievement. With the others, we go into every game hoping - and believing - that we can win." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 小蘭受傷啦 @@ 不過應該無大礙 (還是.....) 二月底加油啊 (大家也體諒這點??? 所以不管是國家友誼賽 還是義'踢' 藍軍似乎都很安靜....) -- Right Now ha ha ha I am an antichrist I am an anarchist Dont know what I want But I know how to get it I wanna destroy the passer by Cause I wanna be Anarchy No dogs body ANARCHY IN THE UK I Wanna be Anarchy I Wanna be Anarchy Oh what a name I wanna be Anarchy Know what I mean And I wanna be an anarchist Get pissed Destroy SeX PisTOLs -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.224.100.52
