Chelsea have beaten Liverpool three times out of three so far this season
and I find it hard to see past them in their Champions League semi-final,
especially if they treat the games like normal Premiership matches.
That means playing at the same tempo and in the same way as in a normal
domestic game. Liverpool are doing better in Europe than in the league
because they are happier with the slower pace and less physical style of
most Champions League ties and Chelsea won't want to fall into that trap.
Jose Mourinho doesn't tend to change much between the Premiership and Europe
anyway, because he has a system he likes and sticks to that, and I expect he
will turn the screw against Liverpool and say: "We're not going to let you
play at the pace Juventus did in your last match."
Chelsea know Liverpool will have a chance of beating them if it becomes a
traditional European tie but that Liverpool will have a job on their hands
at the Chelsea pace.
