Chelsea players were left awestruck by the performance of Liverpool's Jamie
Carragher in the Champions League semi-final at Anfield - and claimed the
England defender was so influential he must have cloned himself!
The ubiquitous Carragher blocked numerous Chelsea shots during the match -
and Eidur Gudjohnsen insisted the centre-back got the vital deflection to
his drive in the last minute of injury time.
The Iceland striker said: 'It was a tight angle and actually Jamie Carragher
cleared it off the line.
'I controlled the ball, hit it quite well and thought it was going in, but it
came off Carragher's thigh.
'I would have loved to see the net move at that moment, but it seemed that
Carragher cloned himself last night. He was just about everywhere.'
Chelsea skipper John Terry hopes Carragher will now go on to lift the European
Cup in the final in Istanbul.
Terry added: 'We've beaten Liverpool three times this season but they defended
well both legs.
'Every shot that went on target Jamie Carragher threw himself in front of it.
'He was magnificent last night and has been all season. I'm really gutted but
wish Liverpool all the best in the final.'
