Defender Wayne Bridge is in contention for Chelsea after missing the weekend
win at Middlesbrough due to a knock suffered in the draw against Tottenham.
Adrian Mutu, Celestine Babayaro and Arjen Robben are still out injured but
Carlo Cudicini could be on the bench.
Porto defender Giourkas Seitaridis has failed to respond to treatment on a
thigh injury and will miss the match.
Seitaridis, who was part of Greece's Euro 2004-winning side, will be replaced
by Jose Bosingwa.

Chelsea and FC Porto have never previously met in European competition.
Chelsea have never previously played a Portuguese team.
FC Porto's experience of visiting England is not a happy one with only the draw
at Manchester United last season providing anything to cheer about.

This home defeat by Real Madrid was the only match FC Porto lost in last

FC Porto have kept clean sheets in their last four Champions League matches.
FC Porto lost the Uefa Super Cup this season to Valencia who beat them 2-1.
Their first Champions League match this season resulted in a 0-0 draw with CSKA
Moscow.

No players will be suspended for this match.
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has scored seven goals in seven Champions League
matches.
Midfielder Claude Makelele is Chelsea's only player with a half century of
Champions League matches (59).
Goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini and defender Celestine Babayaro are the only Chelsea
players to have been involved in both previous Champions League campaigns for
the club. Cudicini didn't play in any of the 1999/2000 campaign though.
Porto have lost Paulo Ferreira and Ricardo Carvalho (to Chelsea), Pedro Mendes
(to Tottenham Hotspur), Deco (to FC Barcelona) and Dmitry Alenichev (to Spartak
Moscow) since last season's final.
Jorge Costa is the most experienced member of this season's Porto squad with 48
Champions League appearances, all for FC Porto.

Chelsea defender Celestine Babayaro is still the youngest player ever to appear

Babayaro was 16 years, two months and 25 days old when he played for Anderlecht

FC Porto have only two players in their squad who do not have Portuguese as a
first language - South African striker Benni McCarthy and Greek defender
Giorgos Seitaridis.
Jose Mourinho, who won two European trophies with FC Porto is now trainer at
Group H rivals Chelsea.
Group H is the only Champions League group to have not produced a finalist in
the competition. All other groups have produced the winner at least once.
The best result by a team playing in Group H was the semi-final appearance of
Leeds United in 2000/2001.
None of the fixtures in Group H this season have a history.
Chelsea recorded a 1-0 victory at Middlesbrough on Saturday.
The Blues are in second place in the Premiership table, having scored seven

FC Porto eked out a 1-0 victory at Vitoria Guimaraes on Saturday, clinching
their first league victory of the season.
The Portuguese champions are currently seventh after four games.
