Drogba in the clear

DIDIER DROGBA will not face any UEFA action for his goal celebrations during
Chelsea's 3-0 victory over Paris Saint Germain last night.
Newspapers incorrectly reported this morning that the Ivory Coast star could
face a UEFA probe for provoking the home fans with his reaction.
But UEFA confirmed today that action was never likely as the so-called
incidents did not feature in either of the two official reports, by referee
Manuel Mejuto Gonzalez and their own referee delegate, submitted to them. A
UEFA spokesman said: "There was nothing mentioned in the reports so there won't
be any action against Didier Drogba."
PSG fans jeered former Marseille player Drogba throughout last night's match.
After the match Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said: "It was a fantastic game,
Didier was man of the match and UEFA ought to give him an award for being
fantastic," he said. "It's always better to look on the bright side."
Mourinho has allowed Drogba to stay behind in France following last night's
game. The 26-year-old will today receive an award for being the best African
player in the French league last season and has been given special dispensation
to stay in Paris.
