Chelsea are desperate that the FA Cup tie at Newcastle goes ahead
because a postponement would result in John Terry’s suspension
being carried over to the Carling Cup Final.
Assistant manager Steve Clarke has been to St James’ Park this
morning where Newcastle manager Graeme Souness was already waiting
with referee Mark Halsey.
The sky is clear and the snow falling now is only in light flurries.
There is an army of people clearing the snow off the pitch.
