Reaction: Words for opponents after tight derby decider

Jose Mourinho had praise for his opposite number after Chelsea had squeezed
past Fulham in the Carling Cup quarter-final but was less complimentary about
one match official’s decision during the game.
The Chelsea manager said: “Chris Coleman deserves that I give him some nice
words. He prepared a very well organised team. He put a lot of pressure on his
players after the Blackburn defeat and the reaction by his team was fantastic.
They fought incredibly hard with great commitment but I think we deserved to
win because we scored three goals and they scored only one.
穆里稱讚柯爾曼,用心帶隊.在fulham輸blackburn後,有所進步.
“When I say three it is not my mistake. I say three because we scored three.
Eidur Gudjohnsen’s goal was a great goal, it was the best goal in the game,
and the linesman made a big mistake. I saw it immediately on the television on
my side and no doubts it was a great goal.”

It was an offside flag that denied Chelsea a second just minutes before Frank
Lampard’s winner. Replays appeared to show Gudjohnsen was level with the last
defender.
“But if I forget the statistic side of the game, I do not think they were a
worse team than us. They did really well,” continued Mourinho. He admitted
that Fulham’s tactical line-up caused Chelsea problems and forced him into a
half-time switch.

“The game was difficult to control, especially in the period when Didier
Drogba was on the pitch because they played with a diamond so they had an
extra player in midfield. Bouba Dioup was playing with a lot of freedom and
they controlled the game in the first-half so it was difficult for us to
create chances.

“In the second-half we changed our shape to a system we worked a lot on in
pre-season and after that we controlled the game. When we scored the goal I
thought the game was finished and I had the feeling that I had to give rest
to some of the guys.

“But Fulham scored a great goal and after that the game was open. But we
had three fresh players in the three attacking positions, Lampard behind
Cole and Gudjohnsen, so we had energy to push up. After that we scored the
goal where the linesman made a mistake and then we had this lucky shot by
Lamps that went in.”

Fulham manager Chris Coleman revealed that his goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar
claimed to have been unsighted by a defender’s legs before letting the
apparently saveable shot through.
“I know what the balls are like these days, they move all over the shop,”
Colemam added. “But it was a tough one to swallow, at the end and from the
edge of the box. We were very unlucky tonight that we didn’t get what we
deserved. We were playing against the best team in the country and we easily
matched them.”

Mourinho meanwhile singled out his own goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini for a special
mention.
“I have to say that Carlo is fantastic. Petr is playing great in the
Premiership and Champions League but Carlo in the Carling Cup and also against
Paris is showing the great goalkeeper he is.”

Mourinho also had words for scorer of the wining goal Frank Lampard who was
available on the bench despite the death of his grandfather at the weekend.
“Frank is a great professional. It doesn’t surprise me with his commitment
that he was here and wanting to help the team. I asked him before about this
game and the game next Tuesday in Porto because the funeral will be on Monday.
He will travel separately but he will be there.”

但是小蘭還是會到波爾圖應戰,自行搭機前往.
Now sitting only one two-legged tie away from the Carling Cup Final, thoughts
are naturally turning to the possibility of the first trophy of the
Mourinho-era at Chelsea. The manager himself certainly has it in sight.
CHELSEA離聯賽盃決賽只剩兩場比賽,這也許是CHELSEA的穆里時代的第一座獎盃.
He said: “This is a competition that will finish in February. It will not go
until May or June so if we can be involved in the Final it will be great for
us and the club because the club has not been involved in big days for a few
years. If we can win the semi-final it will be a great day for us.”
聯賽盃在2月就會結束.如果CHELSEA能進總決賽,是件好事.因為CHELSEA已經幾年沒有
捧盃了.
Beaten Chris Coleman was asked if he could see Chelsea taking it on a lot
further and adding other trophies to the Carling Cup this season. He was both
encouraging and cautious about his west London rivals’ chances.
柯爾曼也對同是西倫敦的CHELSEA奪冠一些鼓勵和忠告.
“It will be hard to win all four competitions,” he said, “but I think they
will win two. I think they will win the Premiership, possibly the Champions
League, and they are in the semi-finals of this cup so they could possibly win
this as well. To win four though, towards the end of the season games take
their toll. But they do have a big enough squad with a lot of quality.”
要奪四座獎盃很難.但是我覺得CHELSEA會贏兩座.英超,或許歐冠.CHELSEA進聯賽盃四強,
也可能會贏.要贏四座,到賽季末可能要付出很大的代價.但是藍軍可是有質有量.
