WRIGHT-PHILLIPS FACING FORWARDS

Shaun Wright-Phillips has said the disappointing result up at Ibrox on
Saturday is already forgotten, and the team are looking ahead to Tuesday
night's encounter with Brondby.

Wright-Phillips, who replaced Joe Cole at half-time in Saturday's 2-0
defeat by Rangers, is keen to look forwards to the challenge facing the
team in Copenhagen.

Speaking after training on Monday, Wright-Phillips said of the Rangers
game: 'I just want to get it out of my head to be honest. That's it now,
we're on to the next game and we just have to prepare and play well.'

During training, the squad, featuring several youngsters, competed on a
small, square pitch, with three small goals at each end. The focus was on
movement and close passing, with Steve Sidwell and Frank Lampard
dominating the game from midfield for their team.

Ashley Cole was able to complete the session comfortably, but missing from

Following that exercise, the squad split, with one group working on
attacking movement and creativity, while the others took part in an attack
versus defence situation, with an emphasis on the wide men, allowing
Wright-Phillips much of the ball. The diminutive midfielder, who has been
used both centrally and on the flank, insists he has no preference on
where he plays.

team in both directions then I'm happy,' he said. 'I just keep working
hard as I have done, and hopefully it will pay off. It has done so far and
so I just have to do the same.'

Asked whether he sees the likes of Brondby, Rangers and Feyenoord as good
preparation ahead of the Champions League campaign, he said: 'I think
every game we play is good preparation. We need to use it for gelling and
fitness, and getting results to get our confidence up.'
