DIDI: WE NEED THE POINTS

Today's London derby will be the meeting of two sides in good form, and
Didier Drogba is hoping that west will triumph over east as we take on
West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

We have won our last five games against the Hammers, with Drogba scoring
three in four appearances against the Upton Park team since his arrival in
2004.

In spite of West Ham's good form, which has seen them go six games
unbeaten, Drogba insists this is a game Chelsea should win.

'They are in good form but I think we are better than them so we need to
do it on the pitch,' he asserted.

If we remain undefeated, it will be 70 league games unbeaten at the
Bridge, but Drogba admits our home form of late has been inferior to what
we have produced on our travels.

'Yes, because we drew that game against Everton, and I think we were a bit
tired, but now we are in good shape and controlling well what we are
doing. We're going to have a good game,' he said.

We currently sit five points behind leaders Arsenal, but with an early
kick-off, could close that gap to two points before the Gunners meet Aston
Villa, though they would have two games in hand. Drogba recognises the
importance of picking up another three points.

'It's a big game and as always we need the crowd to be behind us for the
full 90, 92, 93 minutes, and we'll give our best. We need to win and play
well to beat them. We really need the three points.'

The Ivorian marked his return from a slight knee injury with two goals at
Rosenborg in midweek, taking his season's tally to 11, and he admits it is
something that pleases him.

'Yeah, I feel better, even if I have a few little injuries, I feel good.
Of course I am happy scoring goals,' he smiled.

Another forward that knows about injuries is former Chelsea man Carlton
Cole, and Drogba had kind words for his opposite number, who has hit a
purple patch as he prepares to face his old club for the first time.

'They are doing well, and Carlton Cole is doing very well,' Drogba said.
'I'm very happy for him because he has been working hard and it's the same
thing, when you work hard you get what you deserve. Now he's playing I am
very happy for him.'
