THREE POINTS MUST BE EARNED

We travel to Wigan tomorrow on the back of six straight wins, but Claude
Makelele and Frank Lampard insist that three points will need to be earned
rather than presented to us.

As our form has gradually improved over the past six weeks, the Latics
have not won in the league since August, and they now find themselves in

On the subject of Saturday's opponents, Makelele is aware of their current

'They were recently promoted and are always fighting, like in the

results up there,' he recalled. 'It's very important for us now that we
keep winning. We can't afford to drop points after the rocky patch we had,

game.'
