Nicolas Anelka is looking forward to returning to the City of Manchester
Stadium today, and believes our opposition will be desperate to make amends
for their 6-0 defeat earlier in the season.

Back in October, Anelka was still a Bolton Wanderers player, but recalls
the moment he saw that result, achieved through goals from Michael Essien,
Didier Drogba (2), Joe Cole, Salomon Kalou and Andriy Shevchenko.

'It was very surprising, a big surprise because City had been very good

The City of Manchester stadium was a rewarding home for the forward, and in
two-and-a-half seasons he was a prolific marksman, scoring 38 league goals
in 89 appearances. He also made some strong friendships, and he is looking
forward to reacquainting himself.

'It will be good to go back to Manchester and see the stadium where I
played, I know it well', he smiled.

'The atmosphere is very good, the fans were very nice, and I think it is a
good club. They are becoming one of the best now and have a good manager so

As a City player, the Frenchman had mixed results against the Blues, the
only highlight being netting the penalty that led to our only league defeat
of the 2004/5 season.

In three other games against us as a City man, Anelka lost them all, with
nine goals conceded and none scored.

'It was good to score against Chelsea because it was always a tough game to
play in, and now I hope it will even more difficult for City.'

Anelka is 20/1 to net the only goal of the game again, this time in a 1-0
Chelsea victory.
