COLE:WE NEED ANOTHER TEN PERCENT

Joe Cole said today (Tuesday) that Chelsea would have to work harder in order
to take three points away from the Mestalla Stadium.

Cole, who spoke in advance of the Champions League tie tomorrow, said that
the team are after more than just a point from the game..

'I think that we all have to come together for Chelsea and just get that
extra five, ten percent out of ourselves. We need to improve,' said Cole.

'That's everyone, when I speak about the team I'm also speaking about myself
and we're not firing on all cylinders at the moment. We are improving and we

The Blues recent lack of goals has been worrying a lot of the fans, but Cole
feels the latest performances and results will only increase the sense of
determination, in the changing rooms, to impress tomorrow night.

'I think when you've gone a while without winning you want to win. This game
is important now as we only have one point in the Champions League group, so it's a

'We won't be sitting back but it's a tough place to come, it's a top side
with some great players, so we need to be five, ten percent better than we've

Only six months ago was the last time Chelsea faced Valencia in Spain when we
knocked them out of the competition. However, Cole doesn't think that the previous
result will count for anything.

'No two games are the same, last year was a good performance and a good win,
but it's a different team.

He also expressed how significant it was that John Terry had joined the team
on their trip to Spain, showing us just how central Terry is to the team and
the players.

'JT's very important to us; obviously he's our captain on and off the pitch
and our leader.

Despite the coverage that Chelsea has been receiving in the media recently
Cole stated that it was time for the team to only think about the football and winning
their next fixture.

'We need to just concentrate on ourselves and play our own game, we want to
go out there and play football.

points,' added Cole.

tie on Wednesday night.
