CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: IT'S FENERBAHCE

Chelsea will play Fenerbahce in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions
League, and are away in the first leg, to be played on Wednesday, 2 April.
The second leg at Stamford Bridge will be played on Tuesday 8 April.
We have never played the Turkish champions before, and it is our first
trip to that country since beating Galatasaray 5-0 in 1999. Back in 2003,
we beat Besiktas in the same competition, but our away game was played at
Schalke.
Former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman is now at Fenerbahce, alongside
former Real Madrid left-back Roberto Carlos. They are coached by another
Brazilian legend, Zico.
Chief executive Peter Kenyon, present at the draw in Nyon, Switzerland,
was pleased with the draw. He said:
'I'm delighted because first and
foremost we managed to avoid another English team, which is good news
certainly for our supporters. I think overall it is a good draw.
'It's the first time we've ever played Fenerbahce so there's no history
between the two clubs. They're having a good season, are second in the
league and qualified second in the group. '
The full draw is: Arsenal v Liverpool
Roma v Manchester United
Schalke v Barcelona
Fenerbahce v
Chelsea
We also know our opponents for the semi-final draw, should we progress
past Fenerbahce. We will play the winners of Arsenal and Liverpool.
The first leg of the semi-finals will be on 22 and 23 April, and the
second leg will be the 29 or 30 April. Should we be there, we will be at
home in the second leg.
The final will be held in Moscow, on Wednesday, May 21.
