BIONIC MAN BOOST FOR GRANT
Avram Grant will go into tomorrow's FA Cup fifth round match against
Huddersfield with the largest pool of players available for many months.
John Terry is back in contention for a place against the League One side
having found a sprint finish in his race to return from a fractured foot. The
captain is joined by Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and Michael Essien who
returned this week from African duty.

With Grant adamant a home match against a team two divisions lower must be
treated very seriously, he is delighted to admit his captain's prediction

Regardless of the good run of results since Terry was injured at Arsenal on
16 December, Grant believes having the skipper back on board can only
strengthen the side.
'He is a very, very important player. I have been all over the world and I
have not seen a captain like him. He is a big influence on the team and for
me, a captain is not just about talking, it is about being an example. We
miss him a lot on the pitch.'
With Drogba back in London, the whole question of how last season's
top-flight top scorer will dovetail with new-signing Nicolas Anelka comes to
the fore.
'In modern football, playing together depends on whether players are not lazy
and are ready to work for the team,' Grant reckons. 'They [Drogba and Anelka]
are ready to work and they have a lot of quality. I don't see any problem
them playing together.
He explained that the chance to give young players experience and the
possibility of protecting those one booking away from missing the Carling Cup
Final will be considered, but insisted:
'We are thinking about everything but we know the FA Cup tradition is that
there are surprises. Two years ago, Chelsea hardly beat Huddersfield 2-1 with
a late goal.'
Knowledge of FA Cup tradition comes from experience which includes Grant
attending Wembley finals from 1977 onwards.
'I have never seen a cup that is so important to the supporters and is so
interesting. I remember when I was a kid, watching on black and white
television.
'I have saved every penny to come to finals and I remember even Leeds when
they lost to a second division team 1-0. Now I am part of this and it is nice
to be here.'
