k1 is the solvolysis rate constant.
k2 is the rate const. contrubited from incoming nucleophile.
due to the unchanged conc. of solvent, solvolysis proceeded with
zero-order relationship to solvent (methanol).
if the solvent changed to non-nucleophilic solvent, such as hexane,
you observe k1 = 0.
