有關酒精中毒的問題

這是我在有機課本上的一個習題，我不是很懂它答案的意思，
希望能問問同是學化學的人的想法，因為也許是我會錯意啦XD

原文如下:
problem:
A chronic alcoholic requires a much larger dose of ethanol as an antidote
to methanol poisoning than does a nonalcoholic patient. Suggest a reason
for the larger dose of the competitive inhibitor for an alcoholic.

solution:
A chronic alcoholic has induced more ADH enzyme to be present to handle
large amounts of imbibed ethanol, so requires more ethanol "antidote"
molecules to act as a competitive inhibitor to "tie up" the extra enzyme
molecules.

它答案說"長期酒精中毒的人，因為體內的ADH很多，需要更多的乙醇來抓住ADH"
這樣跟喝更多的酒有什麼兩樣阿@@?

這問題是說為什麼長期酗酒的人在誤喝甲醇時要喝比一般人更多的乙醇才能解毒

甲醇會被ADH代謝成有毒的甲醛

甲醇跟乙醇都是ADH的subtrate=>兩者會互相競爭和enzyme作用 且乙醇的affinity較好

在喝了甲醇之後喝下多量之乙醇可以減緩甲醛產生速度

甲醛濃度較低 使身體能有足夠時間排除

慢性酗酒的人體內ADH較多 所以要喝更多量之乙醇才能減緩甲醛之產生速度
