Lilith Fair Returning In 2010 With 18-City Tour

Lilith Fair will re-launch with an 18-city tour in 2010, according to an
announcement from the Nettwerk Music Group. The festival will visit cities
including New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto and Chicago, among others.
Dates for the shows have not yet been announced.
"I can't reveal anything further now," Nettwerk CEO Terry McBride said in
a statement. "But I can assure fans that we have some exciting announcements
over the course of the following weeks, from confirmed artists to additional
cities to innovative social initiatives. Lilith 2010 is very much upon us."
McBride previously told Billboard he expected to announce Lilith details in
September. No explanation was given for the delay, though McBride said the
logistics of the tour was daunting and time consuming. He would not disclose
whether he would partner with concert giant Live Nation when he spoke with
Billboard in August, saying he would use a variety of promoters.
He also said Lilith now has a legacy of heritage acts -- those that played
the initial incarnation of the festival that ran from 1997 and 1999 -- that
could return next year. Acts that played Lilith Fair include Sheryl Crow,
Christina Aguilera, Erykah Badu, Dixie Chicks, Missy Elliot, The Pretenders,
Nelly Furtado, Jewel, Queen Latifah, Indigo Girls, Tegan & Sara and
Sarah McLachlan.
