among smokers and never smokers in Denmark. Tob Control 10: 273–
278, 2001
這篇論文指出，
丹麥20歲男性不菸者，可以再活56.7年
20歲男性抽煙者，可以再活49.5年
20歲女性不菸者，可以再活60.9年
20歲女性抽菸者，可以再活53.8年
所以抽煙者的生命雖然比較短，但是我們不會特別感覺到的原因就在於此。
