台灣媒體的水準大家皆知 不論統媒或其他媒體
這段是csis官方回應!
As clearly indicated in the article, Ms. Glaser was merely reporting
what she had been told,
which affirmed what other visitors
to Beijing had been hearing from PRC interlocutors
CSIS官方說顯然的原文作者只是報導他所聽到的資訊
而且那些資訊已被其他csis派駐北京的觀察員本身所確認了解
We recognize that what she heard may not be the entire story
, but we are confident of the veracity and integrity
of her representation.
這段則是說明CSIS認為作者本身的資訊也許並不能代表全部的情形
但CSIS非常確信作者本身報導的真實性(veracity) 和正直(integrity)!!

其中一段:
I did not intend to criticize KMT policy or corroborate the information
that I was told by mainland Chinese. I was merely reporting what I was
told by numerous sources in Beijing.
這段意思是聲明作者本身寫這段報導並非主意是要攻擊國民黨
或證實他從中國大陸那得來的資訊.但下一句則說
作者所作的只是將他從北京多方(numerous sources)得到的消息報導出來
也就是作者承認確實有消息指出國民黨與中共接觸
在看下一段
Subsequent to my July trip to the mainland,
many other Americans have told me that they too have been
informed by Chinese officials and institute analysts that
KMT delegations are urging Beijing to not engage in serious
dialogue with President Chen.
作者聲明他2001年7月在大陸的旅程中
許多當地的美國人跟她透露他們也都被大陸官方及機構通知
有國民黨的代表希望甚至催促(urge)北京當局不要跟陳總統積極對話
If this is not the case, then the KMT should,
of course, refute these charges.
作者這裡則說 如果情形不如上述的狀況
那國民黨當然可以駁斥這些指控
對 國民黨可以駁斥
但作者顯然並沒承認自己的消息是空穴來風或有所錯誤!!
也就是作者仍相信自己的資料有其正確性!!
之後的澄清文就是很官樣的文章 說
當然啦 我(作者本身)的觀點並不能代表csis的大部分觀點
這只是我個人工作和學術觀點的一部份 bala bala bala
這段也沒寫說這些指控是虛有的
大家請去看原文 csis本身並不認為這篇報導中有不實的部分
只是對台灣的政黨他們不想有所得罪 才寫一些聲明
當然 民進黨政府引用原文沒有全文引用 作者也有些微詞
但作者生氣的只是沒有全文引用
及原篇報導原是對台灣兩岸的情況作分析
而不是針對台灣單一政黨作批評的主旨
可是"重點" 作者並不認為文章中的內容有所不實!!
rebound不要再用台灣隨便媒體的文章敷衍了事 以為大家看不懂英文嗎?
