Depeche Mode Recording New LP with Bjork Associate
Still working hard to erase the memory of "People are People."
Derek Harder reports:
Depeche Mode have commenced recording a new album with producer
Mark Bell, perhaps best known for his work with Bjork on her 1997
release, Homogenic, and for his electronic work as LFO. Details on the
band's website are sketchy, but apparently sessions have been going
well and progress in being made. (We beg to inquire, "...specifically?")
A single is tenatively scheduled for wide release by December, with the
full album materializing in Spring 2001. How Bell's clubwise beat
sensibilities will mesh with Martin Gore's psycho-sexual romantic
traumas is yet to be determined.

The story is a sad one, told many times.
The story of my life in trying times.
Just add water, stir in lime.
How the west was won and where it got us.
