Reynolds leads the Cal League in home runs (23), RBIs (77) and slugging (.670), and his .337 average ranks second. He was promoted Wednesday to Double-A Tennessee. He promptly homered in his first at-bat. Alberto Callaspo, Tucson: The Callaspo-for-Jason Bulger spring training trade with the Angels looks pretty one-sided so far. Callaspo has a .323 average, a .398 on-base percentage and has struck out only 15 times (compared to 43 walks) in 80 games. Bulger, meanwhile, has struggled in Triple-A for the Angels. Carlos Quentin, Tucson: Quentin's numbers are again strong - .298 average, .426 on-base, .498 slugging - but most impressive is the way he reached them. For the first time as a pro, he struggled, hitting .263 as late as June 10. But he bounced back, which reflects well in the eyes of the Diamondbacks. Top pitchers Micah Owings, Tennessee/Tucson: Owings has moved quickly this season and warrants serious consideration for a promotion this season should an opening arise. He has had four starts this season with seven or more strikeouts. Enrique Gonzalez, Tucson: Gonzalez allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his 10 starts, impressing the Diamondbacks' front office enough to get a shot at the major league level. The entire Double-A rotation: Ross Ohlendorf deserves special recognition for his body of work (7-4, 2.81), but kudos as well go to Owings, Steven Jackson, Greg Smith (who was promoted after going 9-0, 1.63 in Lancaster), Matt Chico and Garrett Mock. Breakout seasons Reynolds: Goes from being a fringe prospect to someone who likely will have a spot on the 40-man roster come November. Danny Richar, Tennessee: The second baseman has cooled off some but was hitting as high as .342 on June 18. Tennessee's best hitter this season, he has displayed great bat control. Tony Pena, Tennessee/Tucson: The starter-turned-reliever has looked dominant for the better part of six weeks with Tucson. With a fastball regularly in the 95-96 mph range, he's can be an overbearing mound presence. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 219.70.17.38
