ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled pitcher Edgar
Gonzalez from Triple-A Tucson to start Thursday's game at Tampa Bay.
To make room for Gonzalez, right-hander Casey Daigle was optioned to Tucson.
Gonzalez was 2-4 with a 3.76 ERA at Tucson this year. He spent part of the
previous three seasons with the Diamondbacks, going 2-10 with an 8.58 ERA in
20 games. The right-hander lost all nine of his decisions when he made 10
starts during the 2004 season.
Daigle had been recalled Wednesday when outfielder Scott Hairston was placed
on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder injury.
