THE HOT SHEET
3. Chris Carter, 1b, Diamondbacks (Triple-A Tucson)
A 17th-round pick in 2004 out of Stanford, Carter is hitting for average and
power for the Sidewinders. The 23-year-old batted .476 with four homers last
week, upping his overall numbers to .291/.396/.479 with eight bombs and 29
RBIs in 213 at-bats.
10. Carlos Gonzalez, of, Diamondbacks (High Class A Lancaster)
Even the Diamondbacks could not verify the spelling of his name with 100
percent certainty, but we have settled on a 'Z,' until further notice. No
matter the letter, he is raking and 15-for-37 this month, be wary of the
62-17 strikeout-walk ratio on the season.
IN THE TEAM PHOTO
Miguel Montero, c, Diamondbacks (Double-A Tennessee):
From not-so-hot to the team photo, apparently Montero has been reading his
weekly Hot Sheet. The Diamondbacks catcher bounced back to hit .379 with a
homer and seven RBIs over his last 27 at-bats.
