Tucson Sidewinders
Rotation continues to be unsettled as Edgar Gonzalez got called up. Kevin
Jarvis was returned but that seems like a nett-loss. The team was bolstered
by the promotion of Micah Owings (who was 3-0 in June) and the continued
success of Mike Bacsik. In the bullpen, Tony Pena has emerged with the closer
’s job after a scintillating June although he might lose some chances to Jose
Valverde who has been demoted to work out his problems.

Gonzalez was called up by the D’Backs when Juan Cruz went on the DL and has
pitched well enough that he has remained with the big team as a long reliever
even after Cruz returned to the rotation.

hits and homers.

His numbers are not great as he gave up more than 1 hit an inning and walked
more than he struck out, but he is still unbeaten for the season (5-0)
Micah Owings

Signed as a free-agent to give the team another lefty and veteran presence,
Bacsik has been a surprise in any role he is given from spot-starting to
relieveing. He is 8-0 for the season.
