Fastball: Schlereth was throwing consistently at 93-94 mph.
Fastball movement: It's mostly straight, though sometimes there's a little
                   tail.
Curve: He throws a power curve, 80-82 mph, sometimes up to 84. It's a downer
       with a little tilt, at times 12-to-6.
Changeup: He has a strong average, at times plus changeup which he throws
          79-80 mph.
Control: He's still hit or miss with his command.
Poise: He's got a football mentality and enjoys the back-end relief role.
Physical Description: Schlereth is a compact, strong lefty, kind of like
                      J.C. Romero.
Medical Update: He had Tommy John surgery his senior year of high school.
                Last year, he missed nearly a month with a rib/oblique injury.
                He's been healthy this year.
Strengths: Three possible pitches to use; a jump in consistent velocity this
           year.
Weaknesses: Command. He'll rack up some strikeouts, but he's also going to
            walk some.
Summary: Schlereth was drafted in the eighth round last year by the A's, but
         chose to return to Arizona. He's got three decent offerings, though
         he struggles at times with commanding them. He misses a lot of bats,
         but he also will pile up walks at times. He's got a football mentality
         on the mound, courtesy of his father, former NFLer Mark, and could be
         the kind of left-handed setup man who gets to the bigs quickly.
