The Arizona Diamondbacks signed All-Star second baseman Junior Spivey

to a two-year contract Sunday.

Spivey is now under contract through 2004.

He would not have been eligible for arbitration until next year.

Last year he batted .301 with 16 home runs, 78 RBI, 11 stolen bases,

and 103 runs scored.
