ESPN Radio 1000 is reporting that the Diamondbacks will acquire
Richie Sexson from the Brewers for Junior Spivey, Lyle Overbay,
Craig Counsell and Chris Capuano. The deal will become official
on Monday, the station reports. It's a poor trade for the
Brewers if true.
Spivey's a quality player and Overbay will be a decent
first baseman until Cecil Fielder is ready, but Counsell's
contract is a big negative and Capuano is nothing special at all.
The Brewers should be getting more than this if the $3.4 million
remaining on Counsell's contract is involved.
