八局下半時，Padres決定把Gonzo送上壘，來抓下一棒的Sexson，
結果Sexson一上來就逮住第一個球，擊出中外野方向深遠的三分全壘打，飛行了428英呎，
也因此讓Koplove撿到一勝。至於Daigle，6.1局掉兩分，不錯的表現讓他免於被下放。
Sexson說：
"I told Gonzo before the game that I've got to get hot so they'll stop
walking him. The smart money would say that they'd walk Gonzo to get to
me -- right-handed against right-handed with a base open and a couple of outs."
儘管Mantei之前表現不佳，九局時Brenly仍然把他推上投手丘，
而BOB主場的球迷立刻噓聲四起。
這場比賽Mantei回復到應有水準，讓對方三上三下，並送出1K。
賽後Mantei對自家球迷的噓聲感到不快，並說：
"You start every game with a clean slate."
"That outing I had yesterday in Milwaukee was forgotten. I had to go back out
there today and do my job."
這場比賽Brenly將line-up改變為：
Kata-Cintron-Gonzo-Sexson-Finley-Bautista-Tracy-Hammock
與季初相較，除了Kata補Alomar進DL後的空缺外，
差別在於Finley回到了第五棒，Cintron被放在Gonzo前面，
並由Tracy取代近況很糟的Hilly，因此把Bautista往上提以錯開兩個左打。
不過由於下一場面對的是左投的David Wells，Hilly將會回到先發陣容裡。
下週六(5/1)早上7:00，ESPN本球季D-Backs首播，對上Phillies。
