couple things memorable enough to mention this yr

Bush is a dork
it's common sense among us that he is stupid
incompetent and stupid
tat's why all he can do is talk about nothing but 'war war war'
kay i really dunno much about politics or international relations
but i do know that americans are isolating themselves
and the problem is, they dun even notice it
and war is not a good way to resolve anything
and what a joke it was
when bush talks about "axis of evil"
"WHAT the..."
he fails in the field of foreign policy
and so far everything confirms that belief
sigh
but then again,
the new secretary of the Treasury, John Snow, is a UVa Economics PHD
hope the US economy can turn well from now
hmm, did i forget to mention?
my major in college is not finance nor accounting
it's Economics....hahah
i used to doubt our skool's econ program
but now....my confidence is somehow boosted...haha..

Bali Kuta Beach Bombing
"holy crap!"
that was my thought when i first heard the news
went to bali for high skool's graduation trip in '99
and at that time
indonesia was still in a very unstable state
ppl were not recommending us to go to that country to travel
but we thought
It's So Cheap!
besides, even if there are violence and riot
it would not happen/occur in Bali
coz Bali relies on tourism as its main Econ activity
any riot/violence would upset the tourism industry
and scare all the foreigners away
we thought
there's no way anything bad's gonna happen in Bali
so we went anyway(though the high skool didn't approve of it)
and we stayed a Kuta Beach for 7 nights
I didn't went to the clubhouse that was bombed
but yeah...i clearly remember where it was
coz it was on my way to hard rock cafe and other clubs
we walk by that same streets so many times
well, just felt really personal about this tragic event

around the same time of bombing
there were a couple of crazy snipers in DC area gunning down ppl
for that period
i'd emailed friends at uva telling them to watch out
and not to go home, since many of them live in northern virginia
i'd pray those 2 crazy asses dun go anywhere near my skool
i'd pray no one i know gets hurt
glad they're caught eventually
yeah i felt really personal for that also
crazy SoB's killing any random ppl
domestic terrorism
damn that's scary to think about..

there are so many problems in the world
they are all so complicated to resolve
not even the world
look at taiwan
it's basically fucked up!
messed up educational system
kao-hsiung the 2nd largest city--> bribery
the truth about tw's politics
foreign policy's tough job expanding foreign relations
econ recession (unemployment, suicides, crimes, etc)
the legislative yuan ppl doing nothing but arguing
sigh sigh

i mean
there are good things going on of course
no doubt
but still, bad things cannot be forgotten,

point is,
dun limit urself to ur own lil circle
which reminds me.
it's no big deal being alone for 12/31/02
sheesh! get real! get a life!
there's always a next yr
the meaning of countdown is not just for couples!
ppl seem to have mistaken countdown/new year to valentine's day or
anniverseries
new year.....new hope!!
to cherish what u have got
and look forward to a new beginning
so if ur alone....guess what....good for you!

look around and realize how fortunate you are already
and realize that there's much more ppl, animals, THINGS
that need to be taken care of
dun think one person doesn't make a difference
be aware of what's going on
around u
in the society
in the city
in the country
in the world
(kay that was pretty random, has nothing to do w/ alone)
they are worth caring about!
