Colletti Wants To Shore Up Bullpen Before Trade Deadline

Heading into the 2014 season, the Los Angeles Dodgers were armed with the
largest payroll in all of baseball, a surplus of outfielders and four relievers
with closing experience, plus other reasons to be optimistic.

However, the Dodgers stumbled out of the gate, which turned into being
consistently inconsistent as they slipped further and further away from first
place in the NL West. Along with poor hitting, the Dodger bullpen was to blame
for the slow start this year.

牛棚跟鳥打 是道奇慢熱的主因

While the Dodgers have improved in multiple facets, which includes the
bullpen, the group of relievers is still an issue general manager Ned
Colletti would like to get set in place, according to ESPN LA’s Mark Saxon:

Dating back to last winter, the Dodgers have been linked to David Price rumors,
but with Rays’ reported high asking price and the Dodgers’ starting rotation
pitching well, Colletti has shifted his focus elsewhere.

去年冬天 道奇就跟Price扯上關係 但是索價太高外加道奇輪值還不錯 所以就不了了之

Brandon League has been one of the few relievers who has pitched well
season-long; J.P. Howell is another who’s been reliable. As manager Don
Mattingly has worked to get roles in place, Chris Perez and Brian Wilson have
been inconsistent.

今年反而力哥成為牛棚的中流砥柱 JP則是穩定的左手牛
Perez跟炸鬍則穩定的提供劇場演出

Wilson was placed on the disabled list after the third game of the season and
has yet to replicate the pitcher he was last season. Perez was strong early,
then faded a bit.

炸鬍開季第三場就進DL蹲了 出來後也無法複製去年鬼神成績
Perez則是開季猛 再來就....

Kenley Jansen for that matter has also had his share of troubles. The closer
has already blown three saves, which is one less than he did last season.

Jansen也是另一個因素 今年沒有去年穩 目前已經3BS 去年才4次

All that being considered, the Dodgers bullpen holds the third best ERA in the
National League and are third in wins, while leading the league in games
pitched. Some of Colletti’s desire to ensure the bullpen is set may be tied
to Chris Withrow’s injury.

目前道奇牛棚ERA是NL第三名 勝投也是第三名(真的假的?) 出賽數第一名
而笨GM急著找牛 跟Withrow的受傷應該有關係

The right-hander was a big part of the bullpen last season and is out for the
remainder of the year after deciding to undergo Tommy John surgery.

這個右手小朋友從去年開始就在牛棚當大將 但因為去開TJ今年確定 掰

An internal option for the Dodgers may be with their Triple-A affiliate —
Paco Rodriguez. The young left-hander was effective for Mattingly before
eventually withered down the stretch due to fatigue.

另一個解決的方案就是把在3A的Paco拉起來(對啊 去年投很好啊
這隻左手牛表現不佳應該是因為疲勞

With the experience under his belt and a lighter workload, Rodriguez could be
a viable answer for Colletti and the Dodgers.

但經驗加上別太重的工作量 Paco應該是個可行的計畫
