One day a freshman from Harvard Univesity hot on a train from Boston to
Washington ,D.C. On the train, he noticed the most beautiful girl that ge had
ever seen. He wanted to sit int the seat across from her, but he was too shy.
He sat down one seat away.
Suddenly, an older, gray-haired woman sat down next to the girl, across
from the freshman. She smiled at him and at the beautiful girl, and then
started knitting a sweater,probably for one of her grandchildren. The
freshman fely annoyed; his best chance to talk to the girl alone was gone.
The train pulled out of the station, and the freshman tried to think of
something to say to the girl.
He was still thikngin when the train stopped at NEw Haven and a young man
wearing a Yale University sweater got on the train. He was much taller than
the freshman, and much more handsome. As soon as he saw the beautiful girl, he
walked directly to the empty seat next to the freshman, across from the girl,
and sat down. The frestman was sure that this was the most unlucky day of his
life, but he promised himself he would win somehow. "NO Harvard student should
lose a Yale student," he said to himeself.
The train went through the station in New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore,
but still the freshman didn't know what to do. In only a few minutes they
would arrive in Washing ton, D.C., and then he would never have another
chance.

Suddenly, the train went into a tunnel, and it was completely dark, NO one
could see anything. But everyone heard the sound of the loudest kiss they
had ever heard and then sound of a hand slapping someone's face.When the
train came out of the tunnel, the handsome Yale student's face was red
on one side .
The older woman thought," That Yale student has the worst manners
I've ever seen! Kissing a girl in the tunnel! Disgracefyl!"
The Yale student thought," That little guy's pretty smart. He kissed the
girl and she slapped me."
The beautiful girl thought," What a strange person that Yale man is! He'd
rather kiss an old woman than me!"
And the Harvard freshman thought," Well, I didn't talk to the girl,but
i still won. After i Kissed the back of my hand in the tunnel, i slapped
the Yale student's face, and he didn't say anything!"
