The shows on HBO and Showtime respectively are taking the week off for the Labor Day holiday in the United States. New episodes will resume on September 8, at which point both shows will begin wrapping up their seasons. Labor Day is traditionally the unofficial end of summer in America, so many television viewers take the weekend to spend time out and about as they say goodbye to the summer that was. For TV viewers, this summer included new seasons of the aforementioned shows as well as True Blood, Breaking Bad, and Pretty Little Liars. The fall television season will kick off later this month when network channels resume their beloved shows.
