問題:Suppose Adam and Eve are marooned alone on a desert inland. They must find a
way to provide themselves with food and drinking water. Adam can produce 5 units
of food or 2 units of drinking water per hour. Eve can produce 2 units of food
or 5 units of drinking water per hour. Please answer the following questions,
and explain why.
(1).Who has an absolute advantage in providing food？ In providing drinking
water？
(2). Who has a comparative advantage in providing food? In providing drinking
water？
(3).What is Adam’s opportunity cost of producing 1 units of food？What is
Eve’s opportunity cost of producing 1 units of drinking water？
Now assume each person can work 10 hours a day. Adam wants 10 units of food
and as much drinking water as he can consume, Eve wants 10 units of drinking
water and as much food as she can consume.
(4). If each man is self-reliant, how much food and drinking water will Adam
and Eve can eat and drink？
(5).Suppose the two man decide to trade with each other, how much food and
drinking water will Adam and Eve can eat and drink？
