08/11/2003 11:30 PM ET Tsao tries to get Rockies rolling Colorado (60-61) at Montreal (60-59), 5:05 p.m. MT By Thomas Harding / MLB.com The Colorado Rockies started what most likely is their season-defining, seven-game road trip in less-than-stellar fashion with a 3-1 loss to the Montreal Expos on Monday. On Tuesday night, the Rockies hope right-handed pitcher Chin-hui Tsao shakes his habit of slow starts and gets the club started in the right direction. Tsao will start against the Expos at Olympic Stadium. Tsao (2-0) has given up eight runs in his three starts since being called up from Double-A Tulsa on June 25. All but one of those runs have come in the first two innings. In two of his three starts, he has given up a homer to the leadoff batter. However, those leadoff homers occurred at Coors Field, where the Rockies have demonstrated the offense to easily overcome falling behind early. Colorado is 19-42 on the road, and has trouble overcoming any kind of deficit. Tuesday will also be a celebration of Far East baseball. Tsao is Taiwan's first pitcher to appear in the Majors, and the Expos will start Japan's Tomo Ohka. Pitching matchup: COL: RHP Chin-hui Tsao ‧2-0, 4.32 ERA ‧Has never faced the Expos MON: RHP Tomo Ohka ‧8-10, 4.70 ERA ‧0-1, 3.00 ERA vs. Rockies in 2003 ‧0-1, 2.25 lifetime vs. Rockies Players to watch: Colorado's Jay Payton won't be begging out of the lineup. Payton is 8-for-12 with three doubles, two home runs and five RBIs against Ohka. Quotable: "We're starting to run out of time right now." -- Payton -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 218.167.192.67
