Is this it? Hurdle said the Rockies have not decided to shut down Tsao (2-2,
6.40), called up from Double-A Tulsa on July 25. They want to see if he can
make it back first.

"Just for the purpose of rehabbing something properly, you'd like for him to
do it on the timetable you have set up and see how he responds," Hurdle said.

But don't expect to see much more of Tsao.

Tsao has thrown 32 1/3 innings for the Rockies this season.

As the Rockies did with right-hander Aaron Cook last season, Hurdle said he
will be careful to preserve Tsao's rookie status for next season in case
honors come his way. Pitchers with less than 50 innings and 45 service days
between Opening Day and Aug. 31 are eligible for rookie status next season.
