First, I agree with you. "fun" is pronounced as /f-un/. Second, I feel it
is totally inessential to distinguish the slight difference in pronunciation.
Believe me, either we read it ㄈㄤˋ or ㄈㄢˋ, we still sound pretty much
like Asian to Americans. And, if you are educated in Taiwan, you can forget
about the thinking that someday your accent will be just like Americans.
