[字辨] input & intake

[sppiou (我好想說Yes I do)]

我正在讀H. Douglas Brown的teaching by principles的第16章Teaching Listening

在第二版p248頁的部份提到了

...to bear on learner's converting input into intake, or blah blah blah...

&

As we shall see, the conversion of input into intake is absolutely crucial

  in considering the role of listening in language learning.

我查Longman的字典得到

input:
ideas, advice, money, or effort that you put into a job or activity in order
to help it succeed

intake:
the amount of food, drink etc that you take into your body 或者
the number of people who join a school, profession etc at a particular time

但還是搞不太清楚這兩個字的差別orz

有人可以分享一下這兩個字的差別嗎?

好巧阿....我有唸過這本書
不過記憶已有點糢糊
就之前學到的
我想input和intake在教學上是指學生從外在學到東西(input)
之後融會貫通後應用或表現出來(intake)

不知道解釋的是不是貼切
