[字辨] sweep/wipe

        考題如下
        Mother used a brush to ________ the dirt on the table.

        答案是wipe

        另外有一個選項是sweep
        為什麼不能用這個呢?
        查過字典
        例句sweep the dirt
            wipe the dirt
        都有

        請問這兩者有什麼不同呢?

推 monkeywife:sweep是掃地上的灰塵 但題目是桌上 所以不能用sweep
→ priv:我覺得有問題，如果要講的話 wipe 是擦而 sweep 是掃
→ priv:wipe the table with a brush 這語感很奇怪
→ priv:如果改成 a cloth 這題就沒什麼大問題了
