標題[字辨] this/so/that 修飾形容詞的差異

我發現我自己不太能分辨this與so修飾形容詞是不是真的有語意上的差異
例如像隨便下面這句
I expected you to be late. but SO LATE?!
和
I expected you to be late. but THIS LATE?!
如果說是that/this我會覺得可以用脈絡決定用哪個比較適合，但是什麼情況用this/that，什麼
時候要用so是否也有細微差異呢？

→ priv:我不知道事情已經「這麼」嚴重了 11/13 13:44
→ priv:so 則是用來增強語氣的程度副詞，所以和 this 是有差別的 11/13 13:46
