[字辨] through / throughout 是否可等同

[somn (somnambulism)]

當表示遍及各地時

through 和 throughout 可以等同嗎??

朗文字典裡有例句 We traveled through France and Belgium on our holidays.

                 The disease spread throughout the country.


今寫到一題文法題

We had one small restaurant in Sydney and now we have twenty ____ Australia.

選項裡有 through 跟 throughout

我知道 throughout 答案比較精確點~ 但...若 through 會算大錯嗎?

當考題兩個選項一起出現會不會不太好!??
