The surface of Venus is obscured by the plant's thick clouds
so is invisible to optical instruments.
yet 的口氣是作「然而」、「卻」來使用
那上面的句子是說金星被clouds所覆蓋，所以無法用光學設備看不到金星表面
在口氣上應該是因果關係，所以把yet去掉，用so來連接二個句子（二動詞is obscured
和is invisible）。
同時so後面應該是省略了the surface of Venus。
