[字彙] What is 'xx' stand for?

與國外友人信件來往時

好像都會習慣後面加個 xx, 請問是什麼意思?

ex:
 hope you have as much fun looking at these pics as i did that night!
 see ya xx

ex2:
could you send me a pic of yours love matt xx

我記得是kiss的意思????
電影closer中兩個男主角在網路性愛也打了很多xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx...

不知是否正確  有聽過此說法!!

o = hugs
除了xxxxx
在結尾也常用xoxoxoxo which means kisses & hugs
