A final theme within the film is the title itself: Collateral.
The main theory behind the title is Max's mother and Vincent's threat
that he will kill her. This example of awareness to Vincent's surroundings
serves as a way of further showing his ability to improvise and read
his situation. He sees that Max is getting scared after the jazz club
incident and snatches at an opportunity to gain the collateral he seeks
on Max, should he decide to be uncooperative.
Rather than kill Max and find another
liaison to L.A., he finds a weakness outside of Max's physicality and
exploits it ruthlessly.

裡面有
make one's rounds
&
from hit to hit
意思是????

hit = 暗殺 (e.g. hitman)

1. Collateral 可能來自 collateral damage
軍事名詞，意為目標外傷害(軍方應該有專有中文名詞)
就是我ㄧ枚飛彈，炸死了一名敵軍，他是我的目標
但是飛彈的爆炸力太過，也炸死了旁邊的兩個老百姓
那兩位老百姓就是collateral damage
當然，所有目標外的傷害都是collateral damage
房子、車、甚至友軍，只要不是我的目標但是還是被炸到就是collateral damage
與這片子有關的就是這位殺手在追蹤目標時卻完全毀了那司機的生活
所以那司機(還有所有在殺手殺人時被波及的倒楣蛋)都是collateral damage
2. collateral 商業名詞，意為保證品，擔保品
如果我沒記錯的話，那司機與他家人(?)都受殺手所挾持，被用來完成任務
並且司機的家人被挾持，司機不配合殺手的話，她就死..
所以司機被collateral所制...
大概是這樣的吧~~ 很可能兩個意思都有
對了，collateral聽起來會讓人想到collect
那殺手的工作就是collect性命吧~~
