Tomorrow is Mother's Day. What's everyone doing for their mothers? ^^
I remember when I was young,we used to make paper carnations during art classes
at school, along with a small card saying "Happy Mother's Day", and take them back
to our mothers. It was quite nice, but everyone had the same flower and the same
card though! :P
As I got older, it seems that what I do on Mother's Days is give my mother a
break by doing all the housework and cooking and cleaning for her. Unfortunately,
I've never been much of a cook, so we either have very simple meals, or go to a
restaurant for dinner instead. But every time, I would get really tired by the
end of the day, amazed at how much work I have to do, and realize that my
mother has to do all the work every other day!!
This year would be the first Mother's Day that I cannot spend with my mother.
I will be sending her a card and along with it a menu from which I will cook
for her some other day! Hopefully I'm a much better cook now than I was a few
years ago! I think it's only when you are away from home and have to do
everything yourself that you start to truly appreciate how much your mother
has always done for you.
