hi i just read your post i have some opinions as someone who's studying in the medical field and i actually had this type of situation in my family my little brother had to choose between business and medicine my father of course wanted him to study medicine, but my brother said he was more interested in business. so that's what he's studying now. he was just really adamant about his decision (my little brother). his interest is in the business field and he showed this to my parents by taking on internships or just doing really well in school. my father finally gave in and allowed him to continue studying business. it's a very traditional thought that being a doctor is the best occupation. there's no doubt about it that it would provide a higher level of status. however, i believe that the medical field is becoming more and more difficult. i guess, i don't really have much advice for how you should change your parents' minds. i can only give you first-hand experience that becoming a doctor is not as glorious as your parents may think. the salary is diminishing, the work hours are increasing, the road to becoming a licensed doctor is becoming longer. by the time we start making money on the job, you may have been able to finish your master's in the field you are studying now. (and that would help you earn a higher salary). <--- this can be some of the things you tell your parents. hope you succeed in whatever you decide to do! -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.224.52.78
