Well done for voting Ma as President! The disciple of killer Kaishek's dictator son! Protected by the KMT in order to appear clean and orderly while doing as he pleases, even talking to the press during the election polls when all should be silent! He's a lover of himself, and will do all in his own interest. If people voted for Ma because of Chen, then why was Hsieh the presidential candidate and not Chen? Only idiots will believe that Chen=Hsieh. It's too late now to open your eyes! You'll be sorry for voting for him! Not for the first two years maybe, but look forward to the cheaper high tech smart labor taking over the Taiwan labor and increasing the unemployment rate amongst Taiwanese, or Chinese as will be the case under Ma. What happened to national identity? National pride? I'm very disappointed in the Hello Kitty brains of Taiwan! Time to go back to Europe, where they still have a sense of democracy, and don't beg for Hitler's SS to come back. -- -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 59.112.55.104 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- < 作者: chinkdaddy01 (chinkdaddy01) 看板: EngTalk 標題: Re: What the hell is wrong with Taiwan??? 時間: Tue Mar 25 11:41:16 2008 Well, it's unfair to just talk about how bad the person is if you don't support this person. I believe Ma won with a land slide because of Chen wasn't doing so well. Come to think of it, I believe the base of each politian should be the goal of better Taiwan. Well, I remember reading articles similar to yours when Chen got elected. So why don't we just sit tight and hope for a better future? Talking about national identity, is it really that important? Would you really choose pride than to help the poor and improve the country? I don't even think Taiwan has a good enough foundation to even claim national idendity. Meh, I just hope people can just work on things that need to be worked on and end those yapping. Both the people and the politians. ※ 引述《omegadeath (歐玫嘎)》之銘言: : Well done for voting Ma as President! I just want to say some things that are on my mind. Just a simple discussion. That's all Regarding the presidential election, well, I'm not a Taiwanese citizen but I am living in Taiwan so I didn't get to vote in this past election. In response to the original post, I just wanted to say if Chen does not equal Hsieh, then why do you say that Ma is the disciple of the party in power of the 228 incident? I firmly believe that people can change. It's true that Hsieh doesn't represent all the things that went wrong during the Chen era. But then doesn't logic tell us that things that went wrong with the KMT shouldn't be blamed onto the next few generations? It's slightly hypocritical for you to say those things. If I were a Taiwanese citizen, I would have voted for Chen during the very first election because he brought a newer outlook for Taiwan. During his re-election campaign, I was still leaning towards Chen also. After these 8 years, I think a change is in order. This is mirrored in US politics. Bush has been president for 8 years now also and I believe that the citizens of the United States would like a change too. This is the main reason why Obama and Clinton are so popular with the voting population. Not just with the voting population, but with the younger people who don't yet have the right to vote, but are clear in thinking that a new direction is needed. I believe that this is the purpose of democracy. Citizens can vote for a change in direction when they believe it is necessary. Not only in the US, but in Taiwan. And democracy is moving in a positive direction with the changes started with President Chen. (I'm not equating economics and politics). I know maybe there is a lot of history that I don't know regarding the past corruption or indecencies put forth by whichever party. Personally, I only use that as a reference and look to see what each party puts forth for the future. With this recent election, I got the better feeling of leadership from Ma. Hopefully, Taiwan's future will be better and brighter. I'm not a Taiwanese citizen, but I have Taiwanese pride also. I want to see an economic boom and growth. I want to see this country succeed on the international level. I want to see a change. And so that's probably why I supported the different outlook this time. It's not about which party I support. I switch every time. I look to see how a candidate presents himself/herself. I have my own thoughts and if a candidate is closer to what I support, then that's the candidate that will receive my vote. I hope no one takes any of this personally. I just wanted to express my own opinions on politics and the recent events. To anyone who actually read up to here, I'd like to hear some of your thoughts also. Thanks! -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 118.168.71.25 ※ 編輯: qmouwu 來自: 118.168.71.25 (03/25 12:16)

DPP attacks Ma for holding a greencard when 金美齡 can give up her nationality after losing an election. I'm not sure if the writer of the original post is a DPP supporter, but compared to people who leave the country in face of difficulties, I would give my vote to those who want to stay and make a difference any day! I agree with the prior two articles (which are much more rational, for one...) and I hope all can vote, according to personal judgement, for the one who can lead us in making Taiwan a better place. Politics is not just standing in a crowd shouting out "diow!" in reply to whatever politicians say. Please try to remain rational and utilize your better judgement! -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 123.194.153.221 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- < 作者: HoJinChang (亞公話要執首尾) 看板: EngTalk 標題: Re: What the hell is wrong with Taiwan??? 時間: Tue Mar 25 22:07:05 2008 ※ 引述《qmouwu (jeff)》之銘言: : This is mirrored in US politics. Take out Ma's China direct flight, China investing in Taiwan.., China that, china this... Ma's has nothing to offer to Taiwan. He kept saying Taiwan should open doors to China, which will bring money to Taiwan. But how can he be so sure that Chinese want to bring any money Taiwan? Chinese is not stupid, they will want something back from Taiwan. When Chinese invests in Taiwan real estate, the housing prices will soar. But look at the mid-class and the poor. Not many can afford houses now....talk about the future. Stocks prices will soar...but how many mid-class/poor families can afford to buy stocks now? right..maybe you have few hundred thousands worth of stocks. When Taipei index goes to 10000, maybe u only make few thousands. While the rich makes tens of millions. Ma's policies only help the rich get richer. Good luck to everyone living in Taiwan. --- IT's really sad that KMT and its media has double standards, Prior to the election win, they asked DDP to freeze gas/electricity prices Saying that people cannot afford the high living costs. After the election, they said that DDP is doing this on purpose to burn nationals fund, and give a hot potate to KMT after 520. In the past, they kept talking about Chen becoming an American's grandpa. And now, they talk nothing about Ma's 2 American daughters... This is a really messed up place. Open your eyes, taiwan! ※ 引述《HoJinChang (亞公話要執首尾)》之銘言: : ※ 引述《qmouwu (jeff)》之銘言: : : This is mirrored in US politics.
