Spanish Word of the Day (Friday, February 6, 2009) vez time In previous Words of the Day we’ve come across la vez referring to time: ¿Cuántas veces al año? (How many times a year?) Lo ha hecho tres veces (She’s done it three times.) You can use vez with adjectives in the structures cada vez más and cada vez menos to emphasize that something is getting more and more ... or less and less ... La vida es cada vez más difícil. (Life is getting more and more difficult, Life is getting harder and harder.) Estos casos son cada vez menos numerosos. (These cases are becoming less and less frequent.) You also use cada vez más/menos with verbs: Están colaborando cada vez más. (They’re working together more and more.) Hay datos que indican que los chicos fuman cada vez menos. (There’s data suggesting that boys are smoking less and less.) -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 122.116.111.182
